Field Trip

Dear Parents of Room 102:

"Let the show begin." It is now time for our shining performers to venture out and visit the Bucks County Playhouse. This will be a fun-filled time where students will be given the opportunity to watch the hit show "High School Musical." Full of hit songs and fantastic dances, this field trip will be a big hit of the year!

Our trip to the Bucks County Playhouse will take place on Friday April 11, 2008 and the show will begin at 11:00am. To be sure that we will have enough time to travel the departure time will be at 10:00am and we should arrive back to school no later than 2:00pm. We will be traveling by bus and should be expecting some traffic once we enter the New Hope area. Don't forget to pack a lunch for your child because we will be eating on the bus. The cost of this field trip will be $25, which includes both the ticket and bus fare. This is a great rate, so please consider this a great opportunity to get your child out of the classroom and explore the world of theater.

If you are interested in being a chaperone please send in your money with your child's permission slip, which is due on Friday April 4, 2008. Be sure that the permission slips are in before this date, so that we have enough time to confirm our ticket order. There is no set amount of chaperones, so if you are interested, this will be an exciting day to share with your child.

Along with this I wanted to mention that over the past few weeks I have integrated the world of theater into the classroom. Through lessons and discussions, your children have been learning about key theater terms, characterization, and fiction. To show off the student's fabulous work, I would also like to invite you to a showcase performance of shows that were written by your own children. This will be taking place Friday April 18, 2008. so be sure to mark your calendars.

Overall I just wanted to let you all know that your children have been a pleasure to work with throughout this entire lesson. It has been full of hard work, but they have been successful in every aspect of the unit. I can't wait to see their final performances, I am sure you will all be proud!

Sincerely:

Ms. Castor
